Snow Removal

Winter weather in Nebraska is constantly changing. In January it might be 60 degrees one day and 36 hours later it will be –20. This was one of those swings in temperatures. The day previous to this felt like spring, and today Kache got out of school early because of blowing snow and cold temps.

This is what happens in the winter when a drain gets frozen. The kids and I went out with Jason to get the water ready in this pasture for steers.

It was warm enough for the kids not to need coats.

Longing For

After coming home from our Christmas vacation to the 3-foot snow drifts in our front yard, I’m missing and longing for warmer weather and green grass.  Beneath the snow in Washington, the grass was still green.  It felt like springtime there.  I can’t wait for rain storms and grass-growing weather.

We left the Valley right in time to catch the sunrise on the Tetons.  I would have liked to stay there and shoot along with the professionals, but it was a little too cold for me and I’m no professional.   

By the time we made it to Moran Jct., it was 10 degrees colder at –26 and I couldn’t keep my lens from fogging up.

Then climbing Towgotee we saw this interesting rainbow.

Christmas with the Bagleys

After our get-together with the Nielson’s, we got together with the Bagley's.  I think our kids loved spreading Christmas out over many days.

Old Friends

While we were in Victor, we were able to visit with our old friends, the Ortons, and their kids.  They used to live here in Nebraska and we miss having them around.  And I just realized I don’t have any pictures of the adults, just the kids.

Dallie and Kiley.  Dallie was just a month old and Kiley was a month from being born when Orton’s moved from Nebraska.
