Family Pictures 2016

Tayler Taylor took our family pictures this year on the ranch. We think she did a great job and appreciate her expertise!

Kache remembered tonight that he is supposed to teach his Sunday school class this week. He's been working on his lesson for the past two hours without me being on his case or helping him at all. Last week I was failing as a parent as he was yelling and angry and I wanted to give up. But then he amazes with something like this. And he's always so good with kolt. Sometimes kolt will go to Kache instead of me when he's sad.

Rggin's 5h Birthday

Riggin turned 5 on his third day of kindergarten.  He wanted blue cupcakes to share with his class.

Some of my favorite quotes from Riggin today:
"I love school. Can I go every day?"
"My very own suitcase?!" (Weird present for a 5 year old, but he has been asking for one.)
"This is my most favorite birthday!"
"I love you mom!" Accompanied by a hug (and we are not a hugging/express-your-feelings type family, so for him to say and do this without being forced made my heart happy)....
Happy birthday Rig!

First Day of School 2016

Riggin is starting school this year as a 4 year old.  We debated back and forth about him starting this year, and finally decided to send him, with the thought that if we and his teacher feel he isn’t doing well, we’ll pull him out and start again next year.

I have kids in three different schools this year.  Kache, 7th grade at Groesbeck Middle School; Riggin, kindergarten at H.O. Whitehurst Elementary; Dallie, 3rd at Enge-Washington Intermediate; Ryder, 5th at Enge.

Riggin’s teacher, Mrs. Wolf.  He wasn’t so sure about her touching him, but she seems like a pretty great teacher.  He may have been a little nervous, but he was excited too.  He didn’t cry and didn’t even say goodbye.

Kolt and I are doing our best not to miss the big kids while they’re at school.

Second day of school.  After years of waiting, Riggin is so excited to finally ride the bus!
