Fun with Friends

We had lots of neighbor friends over on Sunday night when their parents were at church meetings.  Of course there was dress up, make-believe, legos, and lots of squealing.

Great Room

We finally have it painted and pictures on the walls and the new table inside.  The table is too big for the dining space, but I really like how it turned out.  We still need to make a bench and paint some chairs.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever met a person who is just like you (a person with a similar personality, likes and dislikes, talents and abilities), only better?  I’m torn between humility, jealousy, envy, and inadequacy.  I really like this person, of course, she’s me, only better.  Everything thought I have, she’s able to put into words.  Everything I do, she does better.  It’s a good thing I really like her, or I would really dislike her.

Fishing Trip

Jason and some friends were invited to go fishing down in Palm Beach the other day.  The surf was pretty rough, so I was glad they didn’t leave in the inlet.  I can’t remember what kind of fish they were catching, but they didn’t have much luck until it was time to go back in.  For his next trip, Jason wants to head out to open water for some shark fishing.

Jason’s was the first catch and also the smallest.

I think Seth’s fish was the biggest.

And Robby knows how to hold a fish so it looks really big.

Birthday Girl

We have a 5-year old again.  I’m not sure if I’m ready to send her to school.  If it was Lakeside, I wouldn’t worry (as much), but Harmony is a big school with lots of kids and I’m worried.  I don’t know what we are going to do about her hair.  She wont keep it in a ponytail, so it is always scraggly and in her face.

We opened presents this morning before Jason left for work.

And then, tonight after supper we had strawberry birthday cake.  Aunt Leslie called the birthday girl as we were about to sing.

New Car

We’re back in a minivan.  I don’t know that black is the best color to own in Florida, but I’m glad the search is over.

One Year Ago

Feeling a little homesick lately.  My post from a year ago:

THE SANDHILLS

I never tire of the beauty of the Sandhills.  I love this place.  It’s pretty, safe, and off the beaten path.  I dread the day we leave here.

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July celebration on the ranch.  They had fun blow up water slides, a BBQ, ranch games and fireworks.

The horse race.  Jason was third from the left (no hat, brown shirt).

Poor Dallie did not want to do the dollar race.  She didn’t ever cry, but I don’t think she smiled either.

The egg toss.

Dallie and her partner, Malia cracked me up.  They didn’t know what was going on, neither of them ever caught the egg, but it never broke either.

We were hot, dirty and sweaty by the time it was over, but thankfully, we weren’t the only ones.
