Ryder’s Birthday

Ryder had a pretty fun birthday this year.  He was happy to get a bike that he isn’t too big for.

And a “barn shirt”.  A barn shirt was on his Christmas list but first he had to explain to me what it was.

And a Cars 2 game for his leapster.

And we had some friends over to celebrate with him in his barn shirt.

This Day in History

I don’t have a very good memory, but I remember quite a bit (for me) from this day 6 years ago.  We were having a nice ham dinner.  Jason made mashed potatoes and gravy and it smelled so good, but I didn’t dare eat any of it because I was having contractions.  It was still 13 days before my due date, and my contractions didn’t hurt that bad, so I was unsure what to do.  Our home teachers, Anna and Alex, came over to visit and brought us a University of Wyoming blanket.  I called the hospital to ask what I should do; Dr. Keeler said come in and get checked.  When we got there (at about 8 p.m.) I was dilated to a 6 so Erica left the basketball game and came to pick up Kache.  Ryder was born just after midnight weighing in a 7lb 10oz.

Christmas 2011

We had a pretty awesome Christmas this year (in my opinion the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!)  Included in the loot was a trampoline, tools sets, books, slippers, clothes and a 12-gauge shot gun for me.

Santa brought a Strawberry Shortcake market,

a leapster,

and a telescope.  And I just realized that I don’t have any pictures of Riggin.  We let him sleep in while we opened the presents.  He a train with jungle animals and a floor play mat that he loves.

Busy

We’ve been busy.  I’m too tired to remember all the things we’ve been busy doing.  But before I start catching up on past events my Mom requested pictures of Riggin.  He is such a happy baby.  I’m not sure if he seems so happy because he was so miserable for the first 6 weeks of his life, but whatever it is, I like it.  He smiles and talks a lot and he is getting so chubby!  I was looking at pictures of him before we started him on Neocate and it makes me so sad that he was so skinny and that his tummy was hurting.  But all seems to be well now.  His next appointment is January 5th so we’ll find out how much he weighs and if he gets to step back to the less-expensive formula.

Look at that chubby cheek!

I had to add this picture to show LeRae and Leslie that my plant survived the trip home in the back of the pickup.

Hopefully there will be more blogging to come soon.

Christmas in Victor

While we were in Victor for Grandpa Grandpa Bagley’s funeral, we got to celebrate Christmas with Bagleys.  Even though it was such a quick trip, we stayed up late and ate and played and had a fun time with our Bagley cousins.

Grandpa Verl’s Funeral

Shortly before Christmas Grandpa Grandpa Bagley passed away.  He lived a good full life and I’m sure it was a joyous reunion in Heaven to see his family again.

I love this picture of Lynn’s family when he was a baby.  His mom died shortly after this.  Lynn was not yet two when he and his parents were in a car accident.

Lakeside Christmas Program

This year Ryder was the MC for the school Christmas program (I kind of think he is his teacher’s pet).  The kids did recitations and sang Christmas songs.

Then they did their skit in which Kache was a couch potato urged to go outside by the elf that came out of his t.v. and Ryder was Frosty the snowman.

Then the kids told about Christmas traditions in the U.S. and other countries and then we sang Away in a Manger and Silent Night.  It’s so nice to be part of a small school and community so that we can sing religious songs and talk about the real reason for Christmas at a school function.

The last day of school before Christmas break the kids had their school party.  Here they all are with their gifts from their teacher.  We also went into town for lunch at Pizza Hut and the kids gift exchange and then bowling.

The best present given was to Dallie from Buster.  He goes to Jr. High in Alliance now, but Dallie just thinks he is the best.  He gave her a snow globe and a picture of himself.
