Riggin has just discovered his hippo and is loving it.
Until he runs into something and can’t go any further.
So happy.
Waiting to see if I will turn him around.
And so angry when I don’t comply.

Even in a drought, these kids can find a mud puddle. Dallie had been up to her neck in one (in a dress!). I was too upset to get the camera because I really liked that dress.
Not much has changed in 4 years. They love mud as much now as they did way back when:
I miss Ryder’s curls. And Kache’s chub.
It’s been hot and dry for the past month. We’ve only had a few days of cloudy skies and this was one of those days. It’s amazing how pretty a change in the weather can be.
The only green around is on the meadows.
Reflections.
Today Jason and I have been married for 10 years. Wow, we’re old. I can tell because in these pictures we look so young. We had a babysitter all lined out for tonight so we could go on a date, but then we decided to take the kids with us because the only decent movie showing in Alliance is a kids’ movie, but that plan has also fallen through because now Dallie is sick. So we’ll spend another anniversary at home. I think we’ve only ever celebrated one anniversary and it was the best date ever (one the few dates we’ve even been on since we’ve had kids).
It’s been a good 10 years. I love Jason more than ever before. He’s a good husband and father. I can’t imagine life without him. It amazes me that he is so good at his work and church callings. Can’t wait for many more years to come.
Riggin is 10 months old and has a temper. He’s into everything and knows and runs when he’s in trouble. He loves to walk with help and doesn’t like baby food. He’s still on Nutramigen, but we hope to be off it soon. He has four teeth on top and two on bottom, but it’s hard to get him to smile when the camera is pointed at him. He loves bread and strawberry jam and is always covered in it.
What is it about tractors that kids love? Riggin is no exception. He loves to read his tractor books and drive the toy tractors and make tractor noises and especially ride in Dad’s tractor.
We’ve been making the hour plus drive to Hyannis this week for swim lessons. The kids have made great progress. They all started out in level 1 and by the end of the week Dallie had released her death grip on the teacher’s neck, Ryder had made it to level 2 and Kache to level 3.
Here Dallie had to roll from her front to her back by herself. She screamed the whole time, but she did it.
Riggin was pretty good most of the time. He didn’t love getting his feet wet, but maybe next year I’ll get in with him.
