Two Weeks Difference
It makes me sad to see the pictures of Rigging when he wasn’t gaining weight. My poor baby. I am so grateful for modern medicine and formula that can help him. I felt so guilty not being able to nurse because everyone preaches breast is best and formula isn’t good. But without formula and a good doctor I don’t know if my baby would have survived.

Another Project for Dad
As a follow up to Mijken’s and Erica’s posts, Nebraska was the last stop on my parents’ handyman trip. Dad’s project at my house was a building a closet in the boy’s new room/office. My parents brought Weston and Renton with them and Kache and Ryder couldn’t be happier. Kache and Wes spent the morning “helping” Grandpa and then the rest of the day drilling and building with the scrap lumber. Kache even found an old tool belt that Grandpa had given him (or Jason, I don’t remember).
The smaller kids building bugs.
Real safe technique he was using here. I was just glad they didn’t put a hole in my folding table.
Notice the tool belt and the leatherman. Jason lost his leatherman this summer and after many hours searching the hills and trails, he ordered a new one, only to find the “lost” one a month later on the work bench in the garage where he left it. So he has let Kache use the old leatherman under strict orders from his (Kache’s) mother not to lose it so when Jason “looses” his we’ll have a spare. By the way, this is the same leatherman that my sisters bought for Jason for his birthday 6 years ago when he got roped into coming to a sister reunion with me in Greybull.
Our project is mostly finished, we just need to paint and hang the closet doors. Hopefully it will get done before Dad comes again. We are very glad he can come visit and is willing to do all our projects.

Riggin’s Blessing
Riggin was blessed on October 16. Grandma & Grandpa Bagley, Leslie, Grandma & Grandpa Nielson, Erica & Doug and family, and Myron & Caroline Durfee and family came for the blessing. We’re grateful for family and friends who are willing to come out and support us on this special day.
Riggin wore the same blessing outfit that Kache and Ryder wore, which was made by Grandma Klingler. Here was the attempt at a picture with all the kids (Riggin never did get a picture all by himself).
I couldn’t get everyone to look at me at the same time.
Then finally I got everyone’s attention, but their smiles were worn out.
And when I told the kids to try for a better smile, this is what I got:
After church we had Sunday dinner at home and were joined by more neighbors: Wilsons, Pecks, and Reddens. The adults had a nice time visiting while the kids played.
The 3-year olds. Dallie, Elizabeth and Riata.
The 5-year olds.
Finally Blogging
I’m finally getting around to blogging again. Hopefully I’ll remember all I need to say.
Riggin is finally gaining weight. He had another appointment in which we found out that the formula he was on (with partially broken down proteins called Nutramigen) still wasn’t working for him so he is now on an amino-acid based formula (Neocate) that you can only get through prescription. He had gained 1lb 9oz. (he weighed 8lb 8 oz.) in the 11 days between appointments, so we were happy with that, but his body still wasn’t able to absorb all it should.
Riggin at 6 weeks old. Finally starting to grow on the Nutramigen formula and finally starting to smile. We could tell he was feeling better.
8 weeks old on Neocate (the prescription). His face looks much chubbier and he is finally growing out of some clothes.
A comparison: 5 weeks vs. 8 weeks. He doesn’t even look like the same kid. Every time he wakes up he looks a little chubbier.

In Kache’s own words:
Ryder and I went out to help preg the heifers the other day. I came home with two big holes in my head. I got hit by a rock while Ryder and I were throwing rocks at cups and Ryder accidently hit me. My head was bleeding badly. It hurt very badly. This is a picture of my wound.
Fun Visit
We had a fun General Conference weekend with our friends the Orton's. They stopped to visit with us on the way to their new home. The kids had a fun time playing together. We hope to play together more often now that they are in Nebraska.
These two girls were so cute. They only fought when they had to share the shopping cart.
Even the babies will get to play together when they get bigger.
