Kache turned 8 just in time for the Blue and Gold Banquet this year. Good thing Grandpa Nielson got him started so he could earn his Bobcat.

Week of Firsts
Riggin is six months old today. He seems like a giant. In the past week he has hit quite a few milestones. He is rolling from his back to front (and front to back), he got his first tooth, he is saying “dada”, and he is sitting up by himself (mostly). I imagine he will be crawling soon. He is so wiggly and is always talking or screaming (happy screaming). He’s still on Neocate. We’ll try him on Nutramigen in a few weeks. He seems to be doing fine on the solids he’s eating, if we could only keep him from talking while he’s eating.

Snow Day
We haven’t had much snow this year. So the few chances the kids (and Jason) had to play in the snow they played hard. Dallie was excited to use her very own sled this year.

All Things Nebraska
While attempting to free up so space on my computer’s hard drive, I got sucked in to looking through landscape pictures. They’re so addicting to me. These are just some of my Nebraska favorites and most I’ve posted long ago, but to me they’re worth looking at again and again. I love Nebraska.

The Prolonged Birthday
Kache had a great week of birthday celebration. He turned 8 on Groundhogs Day and got a new suit, scriptures and Legos that morning. He took homemade Oreo cookies to share at school.
And Friday Grandma and Grandpa Nielson flew in (and surprisingly didn’t get snowed in at the Denver airport) and Bagleys came and we had more birthday celebration. Kache got his scout shirt and book, a scripture bag, a new tie and scripture marking pencils, a picture frame and a lei made with candy, and a journal. He wants to have his 8th birthday every year! He and Grandpa Nielson have already done a lot of his cub scout requirements. The kids had a fun Friday night playing with Aunt Leslie, Jaci, Tayson and Kaleb.
Jaci even had a visit from the tooth fairy while she was in Nebraska. We’re glad the tooth fairy could find her because he usually has a hard time getting to our house on time.
Then Kache’s baptism was on Saturday. He asked both Grandmas to speak and the boys from primary sang the musical number.
Kache is amazing. He is a good helper and sidekick. He spends most of his time on Saturdays ranching with Jason. He reads a lot and loves to do science experiments. He is a collector. He’s spent hours in the junk yard looking for “treasures”. He’s really into astronomy right now. He and I love to look at the Hubble Telescope website and ooh and ah over the amazing creations in space. We’re very pleased with Kache and his choices and good example.
