Three Weeks Later

Three weeks ago it was 100^o.  Today it hasn’t even reached 50^o.  Three weeks ago I had the AC set to 71^o.  Today I have the heat set to 71^o.  Three weeks ago I couldn’t get Riggin to eat.  Today I have fed Riggin every hour.  Three weeks ago Dallie was excited to have a baby brother.  Today Dallie wants to trade her baby brother in for a baby sister.  I guess a lot can happen in three weeks. 

Everyone except Dallie seems to be adjusting to having a new baby around.  The kids still want to hold him all the time.  He is very demanding during the day.  I hold him pretty much all day, so I don’t get much else done.  But he is still sleeping good at night.  My other kids were two months old when they started sleeping through the night.  Riggin was two weeks old.  I’m still not sure he is going to keep sleeping this well, but I’ll take it for now.  He’s still pretty tiny.  He’s still in newborn diapers.  He has Jason’s wrinkly forehead.  He loves bath time.  He caked with me this week for the first of many times. 

In other news, the boys are enjoying school (Ryder a little more than Kache).  Dallie woke up extra early to go with Jason to the neighbor’s house (they’re preconditioning calves and Dallie was invited to play with their three year old).  It’s been nice to have a quiet house today.  Jason’s overwhelmed with ranch, church and family responsibilities.  We’re still waiting for the slow fall season to start, but it probably won’t happen until winter.  It’s been an adventure for me this week to make the drive to school.  Riggin doesn’t like our rough road (neither do I).  But so far I haven’t been late.  And I better get off the computer if I want it to stay that way.
