Sheridan County makes me laugh sometimes. A few years back they put up street signs out here on the ranch. The county, however, doesn’t claim these to be county roads. If they did claim them, they’d have to fix and service them. So the first time I saw this street sign past our house I laughed. For starters, it’s turned the wrong way (320 should go north, 304 west). Second of all, this trail leads no where, or at least no where any traveler would want to go. We are the last house on the road. If you follow this trail 5 or 6 miles (about an hour drive through the hills) you’ll make it to a neighbor north of us, but it is faster to add on the 15 miles and go around on the highway. Maybe it used to be a traveled county road because we do have auto gates from us to the neighbor’s, but when we tried to get the county to fix one of the others trails on the ranch with a street sign, they said they aren’t on their map, and therefore, not a county road.
Looking north at what is supposed to be 320 Trl.
The cows have finally rubbed the sign down and I doubt it will ever get put back up.
