The boys’ field trip this year was local, which means Jason was able to come. He had just finished calving and it was his first trip off the ranch in a month so he enjoyed it as much as the boys. We went to Smith Lake (45 minutes north) for some fishing. Mrs. Britt brought her fancy fishing boat and only two fish were caught.
Of course it wouldn’t be fishing without a couple snags. I volunteered Jason to rescue this line caught in the tree.
After fishing we went a bit farther north to Mrs. Britt’s ranch for lunch and swimming in the crick.
